ABOUT ABOUT

Join us Saturday, July 23 for a special Songwriters-in-the-Round house concert, where three of the best tunesmiths I know will be  trading songs and telling stories—kind of like Elvis Costello’s Spectacle TV show from a few years back.

Rick Hardin is a native Sonoman, veteran of the SF Bay Area music scene, and one of the most popular returning performers from my original house concert series. Legendary local radio station, KFOG selected him to be one of their Local Scene artists. If you're a fan of Toad the Wet Sprocket and The Fray, you're gonna dig his music.

Brindl’s music is soulful folk-nouveau: a unique blend of singer-songwriter folk, soul, and blues. Her dynamic voice, poetic songwriting, and compelling live performances have been captivating audiences in the San Francisco Bay Area for the last decade.  Inspired by songwriters like Patty Griffin and Ray Lamontagne, Brindl is equal parts modern-day troubadour and soulful songstress. She released two albums independently on her Moxy Music label (Acoustic Heart, 2008 and Shine, 2010) and founded moxymusic.org in 2008, a resource site and blog with marketing tips, links and articles to help inspire and empower independent singer-songwriters and musicians. You can check out her new album Love It Up  at on Brindl.com.

Joe Rathbone is the singer/songwriter and frontman of Washington DC-based band The Mercy Alliance. Drawing on influences ranging from Wilco to Alejandro Escovedo to early Neil Young, Joe also gives musical nods to The Replacements, John Lennon, Joe Jackson and David Gilmour—all mixed together in a very inventive stew of sound. His fifth record entitled Waking Up the Sun was produced David Henry (Guster, Josh Rouse, Kelly Joe Phelps, Jars of Clay) and features drummer Steve Bowman (ex Counting Crows) and guitarist Steve Bishop, who worked with Ronnie Montrose.

UPDATE: Everyone who makes an advance donation by getting their ticket here on Ticketleap will receive a raffle ticket and chance to win a CD and a Wine Country Gift Basket curated by our hostess, Karen Shaw. All donations go directly to Rick, Brindl and Joe. So be sure to guarantee your spot and get in on the raffle action by getting your tickets here on TicketLeap.

Like all our gatherings, this party is BYOB. Please bring whatever you like to drink. Plus, we'll have an abundance of cute kittens available for adoption courtesy of Whiskers, Tails & Ferals and Sonoma Pet & Aquatics. (So heads up if you're allergic to our furry things). This event is being promoted to more than one group so be sure to buy your ticket early to guarantee your seat(s).

Looking forward to seeing you in Sonoma on July 23rd!
